CBET certification is recognized as a demonstration of competence for BMETs working in the HTM field. Certification through the AAMI Certification Institute (ACI) is approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The Technical Services Partnership at the University of Vermont (UVM) will again be offering on a CBET Examination Review Course nationally. The review course developed by faculty and staff at UVM had been used internally resulting in 16 of 16 BMET staff passing the CBET exam over the past two years. The program and its success was published in the AAMI Biomedical Instrumentation & Technology article in the September/October 2016 column Bright Ideas:To Be the Best, Department Starts ‘Cert Now!’.
The course is set to begin September 5 with 1 hour webinar review sessions (2 Blocks are established) from noon to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (Eastern) each week for nine weeks. The topics mirror those in the ACI CBET Certification Candidate Handbook. Material is provided weekly in advance for review.
The University of Vermont is also conducting day-long sessions at the NESCE Symposium October 24-26Â if webinar attendees desire additional classroom training. Note, the registration for the NESCE Symposium is separate from the UVM online CBET Examination Review Course.
