Recently, the Medical Device Servicing Community (MDSC) released a white paper outlining best practices for the training of medical device servicing technicians.
The MDSC is soliciting comments from any interested party related to medical device servicing including but not limited to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), independent service organizations (ISOs), hospital biomedical engineering, clinical engineering or healthcare technology management departments, professional organizations, and/or regulatory bodies. The white paper will be open for comments until 5 p.m. ET on October 13, 2021.
AORN is participating in the development of and collecting comments on behalf of the Medical Device Servicing Community, a stakeholder coalition of volunteer organizations dedicated to advancing safety, effectiveness, and quality of medical device servicing. As a Steering Committee member of the Medical Device Servicing Community, AORN will work with AAMI and the MDSC to review and consider all comments on this document. If you are not a member of AORN, please register to gain access to the document for commenting.
