In today’s world of AI and advanced imaging solutions via software, is there a better path for the HTM community to streamline workflow and standardize X-ray test procedures? Why are many still using Excel and/or spreadsheets to generate reports and maintain records of their X-ray QA and test data?
Common spreadsheets permanently store the records of testing and QA activities, but the reality is that they truncate the traceability – we are expected to trust the numbers written in the cells at face value. The numbers, digits, in the spreadsheet is where the trail ends, and all further data traceability is lost beyond that point. But maintenance and inspection of modern x-ray equipment is more than just gathering numbers – it is increasingly about evaluating the output of the machines and the performance of generators and tubes e.g. by observing the shapes of waveforms and comparing them to the measured values.
Join Erik Wikström, Manager Training at RTI, as he looks at ways to improve traceability through the use of a built-for-purpose QA and testing software; Ocean Next. Erik will also discuss the advantages of a cloud service that backs up and synchronizes the measurement database enabling immediate access to fully traceable data.
