Barrett Franklin, MS, MBA, FACHE, CCE, recently shared on LinkedIn that he has started a new interim position as chief executive officer/executive medical center director at Edith Nourse Rogers VAMC with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
His LinkedIn profile states, “I am a healthcare executive with more than 15 years’ experience working in roles of increasing responsibility. My experiences have helped me to develop an in-depth knowledge of the complexities of modern healthcare and how to align bottom line targets, employee engagement and patient experience. Through my experiences I have gained expertise in developing teams and leading an organization as it navigates complex and challenging times. Having worked in both government and private settings I have developed an aptitude for success in both bureaucratic and politically charged environments.”
The va.gov website states, “VA Bedford Healthcare System provides outstanding health care, trains future health care providers, and conducts important medical research for Veterans in Middlesex and Essex counties in Massachusetts.”
VA Bedford has 338 total operational beds, including 224 skilled nursing home beds. The hospital is named for Edith Nourse Rogers, who served in Congress 1925-1960 and was a staunch supporter of Veterans and co-author of the GI Bill. Its facilities and programs are accredited by The Joint Commission, CARF, and LTCI.
