Bryant Hawkins Sr., site manager for Trimedx, member of the editorial board for TechNation magazine, and host of the HTM on the Line podcast, recently revisited New Harmony High School in New Orleans to speak with Ms. Kelly Fogwell’s class. This engagement followed his initial meeting with the students during a career day two months prior.
During his first visit, several photos were taken to document the experience, but one image stood out—a photo that was later featured in TechNation‘s November 2024 issue. The publication of this photo added a special layer of significance to the moment.
Wanting to share this recognition with the students, Hawkins reached out to Jayme McKelvey, a friend at MD Publishing, parent company of TechNation, to request enough copies of the magazine for the entire class and the school’s leadership team. In a testament to MD Publishing’s generosity, Hawkins soon received the copies he needed and more.
When he informed the students about the article, their excitement was palpable. The students’ enthusiasm transformed Hawkins from a guest speaker into their biggest fan. In a heartfelt gesture, he asked each student to autograph the article, which they eagerly did. The signed article now holds a place of honor and will soon be displayed proudly in Hawkins’ office.
To commemorate the occasion, another group photo was taken. The students also expressed their gratitude to TechNation magazine with a heartfelt message: “Thank you.”
Reflecting on the experience, Hawkins emphasized the importance of exposing young people to the Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) industry. “Days like this are a reminder of why I’m so passionate about what I do,” he shared. “Moments like these fuel my drive and create lasting memories for both the students and myself.”
The visit underscored the impact of mentorship and the power of connecting with the next generation of professionals. Hawkins expressed his gratitude to TechNation for helping create an unforgettable experience.
