The Lone Star Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) Association is pleased to announce its launch as a new nonprofit entity focused on advancing healthcare technology management across the great state of Texas.
While Texas has traditionally had two primary HTM associations – HTMA-NTX in Dallas-Fort Worth and HTMA-TX in Houston – Lone Star HTM represents the first statewide initiative to unify and support the growth of HTM societies across the state. The idea began as a collaboration between executive leadership between these two organizations and will aim to serve as a coordinating body for HTM professionals statewide, collegiate HTM associations, and vendors from across the country who want to get plugged into the Texas HTM scene.
Rather than creating a state board, Lone Star operates as an independent entity, allowing existing HTM associations to maintain their autonomy. These associations will continue to host their own events, select guest speakers, and operate according to their respective bylaws while partnering with Lone Star HTM for additional support.
In the coming months, Lone Star HTM will unveil its lifetime Founding Sponsors, a select group of hospitals, OEMs, ISOs, GPOs, consulting groups, and Texas-based third-party biomedical and imaging companies who are providing seed investment for the organization. The unique fundraising model enables Lone Star HTM to support existing associations without encroaching on their activities.
“We’re frequently asked how people can start HTM chapters in places like Austin, San Antonio, the Panhandle, or South Texas,” said Webb Clark, President of HTMA-NTX and Acting Secretary of the Lone Star HTM Association. “Lone Star HTM will provide legal support, fundraising assistance, and a vast, established network to help new chapters get off the ground. Additionally, we’ll have cost-saving resources such as our website, which will serve as a central hub to connect associations and professionals across the state, as well as vendors who want to get involved with these organizations.”
In addition to supporting the growth of local chapters, Lone Star HTM is organizing a premier state-level conference by 2026, focused on professional development, industry trends, and cutting-edge practices in healthcare technology management. This conference will be a milestone in advancing the field across Texas.
