The recent webinar “Life Spark Medical’s SmartTank – Facilitating and Improving CO2/Gas Module Testing” sponsored by Life Spark Medical featured a live demo of the SmartTank. Life Spark Medical co-founder Brent Weight was the presenter. The presentation is eligible for 1 CE credit from the ACI.
Weight demonstrated how the SmartTank makes testing faster, easier, and more efficient while conserving gas. The SmartTank is an all-in-one testing solution for CO2 gas modules and anesthesia monitors, including models like GE E Modules (E-sCO/E-sCAiOV), Philips 3015A/B, Philips 1026A, LoFlow, Capnostat, Zoll, Draeger, and many others. It automates the testing process, delivering more accurate results in less time, using less gas – all backed by detailed test reports.
He showed how its intuitive interface features preloaded test sequences that guide operators step-by-step through the testing process. It eliminates the need for separate gas regulators, flow meters, syringes, tubes, pressure gauges, barometers, and even service manuals – all the necessary hardware is built right in. It can even assist with patient monitor testing, including NIBP.
The webinar was popular with 76 registrations and 44 in attendance for the live presentation. A recording of the session is available for on-demand viewing and 1 CE credit at WebinarWednesday.live.
Troy Meeks, a biomed tech with Mary Greeley Medical Center in Iowa, was the big winner scoring a Swiss Force Meister Multi-Tool for correctly answering the trivia question.
Attendees were asked, “What was your single biggest takeaway from today’s product demo?”
“The importance of doing thorough CO2 module testing,” said Christina Bottomley, Tech manager BMET II, InterMed.
“Ease of use, efficiency of tests, and great simple explanation of CO measurement importance in respiration determination and overall capnography,” shared Larry Thompson, BMET III, UAB-The Kirklin Clinic.
“Great knowledge of the product and a beneficial product it is,” said Donald Armstrong, Tech Training Manager, Renovo Solutions Training.
“I appreciated the explanation of the waveforms for CO2. Understanding what is normal versus what is not can be helpful during troubleshooting,” said Joshua Abner, BMET II, Cape Fear Valley Health System.
