A: Altoona, PA
Q: WHERE DID YOU RECEIVE YOUR HTM TRAINING/EDUCATION?
A: Penn State New Kensington
Q: HOW DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER HTM?
A: Job shadowing at UPMC Altoona
Q: WHY (OR HOW) DID YOU CHOOSE TO GET INTO THIS FIELD?
A: I liked taking stuff apart at the house and figuring out problems. After job shadowing at UPMC Altoona, I knew this is what I wanted to do because it felt right.
Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR POSITION?
A: I like the fact that every day is different. You never know what you’re going to run into day by day. It is never the same which is great in preventing the job from becoming too much of just a routine.
Q: WHAT INTERESTS YOU THE MOST ABOUT HTM?
A: I like the innovation. There is always new technology coming out that challenges biomeds to learn new things constantly. It keeps us on our toes!
Q: WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT IN YOUR FIELD THUS FAR?
A: Getting the job at Mount Nittany. The biomed team at Mount Nittany is truly elite and we all have a great time doing a job we like together.
Q: WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?
A: Attend as many manufacturer trainings as possible. Not only do you learn a new device that is unique and fun to do, you get to travel too! I would like to get to another ventilator training in the near future.
