The Social shares highlights from HTM professionals’ social media posts. This month: a retirement celebration for a 47-year HTM career, a biomed program at full capacity and a chance meeting over dinner.
Happy Retirement
Shared by Ray Laxton

Yesterday at Piedmont, we came together to celebrate the retirement of a truly remarkable man, Dan Harrison. Dan began his career 47 years ago in the U.S. Air Force, and throughout the decades that followed, he served in multiple ISOs and in-house departments, always bringing excellence, steadiness and heart to every role.
The room was full — many people traveled long distances just to honor him. What stood out most was the consistency in every story shared. No matter who spoke, their experiences echoed the same themes. Having known Dan for 46 years, and as someone who is proud to call him a close personal friend, I can attest that every word rang true.
Dan is a man of integrity. He leads by example. He is a mentor, a teacher and a steady presence. He’s a leader in every sense of the word. And on top of all that, he has a great sense of humor and is a Beatles superfan. If you ever have a Beatles trivia question, Dan is your guy.
So while there is a bit of sadness knowing I won’t see him every day at work, there is also tremendous joy. Joy in knowing that Dan has been unwaveringly consistent throughout his career, and joy in knowing he’s stepping into the next chapter of his life — one where he will undoubtedly continue to make an impact.
Dan, it has been one of the greatest pleasures of my life to have you as both a friend and a co-worker all these years. We all wish you nothing but the very best as you begin this new journey.

Back and Stronger Than Ever
Shared by Isaiah Ledesma

The SPC Biomedical program is back and stronger than ever! We just completed Week 1 of the program and it felt amazing. Our Biomed group is completely maxed out with our three cohorts: morning, afternoon and night! The students got to tour our simulation center and other healthcare programs that we get to support at St. Philip’s College. Thank you to all of the programs who allowed us to show our incoming classes a peek into what they will be doing as BMETs upon graduation. Plus, our new Biomedical certificates are live and ready to begin the expansion of our Biomed program. Overall, we had a great time touring and are looking forward to Week 2. Thank you all who have continued to support us during this time.
You Never Know

You never know who you will run into at a random dinner. I had the pleasure to run into Syed Hassan this evening. A wonderful and talented HTM individual. We were putting the names, faces and beards together. Wishing a bright future for this young man.
