Chief Master Sergeant (USAF, Retired) Clyde Cunningham Jr. died Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
A memorial service was held in celebration of his life on Tuesday, August 26, at the Robins Air Force Base Theater. Clyde was preceded in death by Myrtle Westbrook Cunningham, his loving wife of almost 56 years.
Clyde was a co-founder of the Georgia Biomedical Instrumentation Society at the time of its incorporation. He had served as a board officer for the Central Georgia Biomedical Association when that organization merged with GBIS. His service to this Society continued as he held several positions on the GBIS board of directors.
Clyde graduated from New York State AG&T Institute with a degree in Food and Refrigeration. His military career spanned 30 years, from 1950 to 1980, working in electronics in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military, Clyde worked for ServiceMaster/Aramark as a Biomedical Technician Supervisor at Houston Medical Center.
