SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. | Healthcare technology management professionals from across Arizona and beyond gathered May 8 for the HTM Mixer Arizona, an event focused on education, networking and collaboration within the growing HTM community.
The two-day event brought together biomedical equipment technicians, clinical engineers, educators, vendors and industry leaders for presentations and discussions centered on workforce development, cybersecurity, leadership and the future of the profession.
Attendees also had the opportunity to earn up to four continuing education units through the ACI-approved program.
In addition to educational sessions, the mixer emphasized peer-to-peer engagement and professional relationship building. Survey feedback from attendees and exhibitors highlighted the event’s collaborative atmosphere and strong networking opportunities.
“This was my first time attending one and I was really impressed,” attendee Amanda R. Smith, BMET I at HonorHealth, said in a post-event survey. “It was a great opportunity to meet others in HTM and learn from industry professionals.”
Several attendees pointed to the event’s educational programming as a key takeaway. Sessions focused on cybersecurity, employee retention and career advancement received particularly strong feedback.
One attendee described the cybersecurity presentation as “very informative and relevant,” while another highlighted the “30, 60, 90 Orientation and Retention” session as especially valuable.
The presentation “Shaping the Future: The Path From BMET to CRES” also resonated with attendees interested in professional growth and certification pathways.
Networking remained one of the event’s biggest draws. Many participants said the smaller mixer format created meaningful opportunities for discussion and collaboration.
“I like the smaller format compared to the MD Expo,” one attendee wrote. “It allows for more interaction and conversation.”
Others praised the event for bringing together local HTM professionals in an accessible setting.
“Great turnout and informative,” one attendee shared. “The ability to share ideas with other HTM professionals and network made it worthwhile.”
Exhibitors also reported positive experiences during the event, citing strong engagement with attendees and quality conversations throughout the day.
Attendees rated the overall quality of the event highly, with many giving scores between 8 and 10 on post-event surveys. Organization, logistics and networking opportunities also received strong marks.
Events like the HTM Mixer Arizona continue to play an important role in supporting the HTM profession as healthcare organizations navigate evolving technologies, cybersecurity demands and workforce challenges.
By combining accredited education with networking opportunities and open discussion, the HTM Mixer Arizona provided attendees with practical insights and valuable industry connections.
Organizers say they plan to continue building on the momentum of the Arizona event with future HTM Mixer programs designed to support education, collaboration and professional development across the HTM field.
Next up is the HTM Mixer Northwest, set for July 31–August 1, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue in the Seattle metropolitan area.
