The Universal Medical-sponsored webinar “The Importance of Understanding Clinical Nuclear Medicine for Health Care Technology Managers” provided via the TechNation Webinar Wednesday series provided insights into nuclear medicine.
Nik Iwaniw, MM, CNMT, RT(N), the Vice President of Corporate Quality & Customer Support Services/Clinical Support Specialist at Universal Medical, presented an informative webinar for biomeds at all levels. Iwaniw, who received a bachelor of science in nuclear medicine technology and a masters of management from Aquinas College, shared his knowledge with webinar attendees.
Iwaniw discussed several aspects of nuclear medicine beginning with the basics: What is nuclear medicine and how it assists in managing diseases? He went over several of the acronyms that are used and took time to explain each one.
He also addressed nuclear medicine’s contribution to quality patient care and a positive patient experience, understanding terminology and procedures utilized in clinical nuclear medicine and what they mean for HTM professionals.
Iwaniw continued the webinar with a look at equipment maintenance and how that contributes to positive outcomes. He stressed the significance of a collaborative effort to maintain equipment.
The webinar concluded with an informative Q&A session. Iwaniw responded to questions submitted by attendees and invited additional question submissions via email.
Almost 300 people registered for the webinar and attendees praised Iwaniw’s presentation in the post-webinar survey.
