Texas State Technical College’s Biomedical Equipment Technology program produced 60 graduates in the past year, according to Instructor Roger Bowles.
He added that “100 percent of our graduates have internship experience (required for the degree).”
“Hopefully all of them will continue to make an impact on the HTM field and take on leadership roles. We have already had 3 of our grads named in the Top 40 Under 40. Many of them are in Texas, but we have graduates all over the U.S.,” he said. “All of the instructors in the TSTC Waco Biomedical Equipment Technology are TSTC graduates from over 10 years ago and more. The latest grads are already finding positions quickly in Texas and beyond with a variety of HTM employers.”
Joie N. Marhefka is a member of the Biomedical Engineering Technology Faculty at Penn State New Kensington. She says the program had five graduates in 2023 and expects to have six graduates in August 2024.
“All of our graduates have completed internships, as it is a requirement for the degree,” she added. “Our graduates will impact the HTM field by filling the demand for qualified candidates, both locally and nationally. Our program is the main feeder for biomeds in the local hospital systems.”
