This week’s blog does not have a technology theme or some other type of healthcare industry business trending but more a reminder of “awareness and realization” as to just how we as HTM service professionals can make a difference in the lives we touch.
I have come to learn of several Cancer and All Illnesses Awareness organizations such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation ww5.komen.org , AVON 39 www.avon39.org and Pink Heals, Inc. www.pinkfiretrucks.org This past Sunday I had the opportunity to experience my first “Cancer and All Illness’ Awareness Walk” along with so many other “tens of thousands” who were participating in similar events in their local communities all across the country.
The local community “Pink Heals Awareness Walk” that I laced up my most comfortable sport shoes for and trekked along with a reported 1,300+ “co-celebrants” was for me an amazing and stimulating experience. To hear the stories being shared, the faces of some I knew and many for the first time being acquainted with reminded me again just how we as HTM service professionals can and do have the capability in positively impacting people’s lives that we may never know or meet in person.
“Connect to Purpose” is a personal challenge and realization that we all must encounter and understand throughout our lives. Why do we do what we do? Is it for pay or perhaps defining ones drive and desire to make a positive difference and impact a situation or outcome? Interesting questions to ask yourself and maybe even an aid in the “soul searching” we all need to do in defining what truly brings us peace and “Connects Us to the Purpose”!
