On the heels of two successful HTM Mixers, MD Publishing kicked off MD Expo Tampa yesterday with educational sessions, an exhibit hall and networking events.
“Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the unique challenges it continues to create, MD Publishing is committed to doing its part to reopen and help everyone get back to business,” the show guide states. “We remain dedicated to ensuring exhibitors and attendees can do business in a safe environment with a new, safe format that supports the HTM community.”
Lowell Pitman from Holston Valley Medical Center said everything about the MD Expo has been first class.
“The hotel has been very good with safety and being clean,” he said. “I can tell a lot of energy went into planning (the MD Expo) and making it safe.”
MD Expo Tampa started on Sunday with educational sessions and a welcome reception. Thanks to support from the Florida Biomedical Society (FBS) and sponsors — including Select Biomedical, USOC Bio-Medical Services, Avante Health Solutions, Innovatus Imaging, AIV, HTMjobs.com, RPI, AllParts Medical and MedWrench – members of the TM community were able to further their education and network with peers while also learning about products and solutions available to assist them with their jobs.
Attendees shared positive feedback after the first day of education and while enjoying a beverage at the Welcome Reception sponsored by Select Biomedical.
Dean Moore from AdventHealth Tampa was attending his first ever MD Expo.
“It’s good to be able to go out and network with other biomedical professionals,” he said. “And, the training is good.”
Charles Hardenstein travelled from Littleton, Colorado to attend the MD Expo after attending an HTM Mixer in Denver earlier this year.
“The first two education classes were fantastic,” he said during the welcome reception. “It’s a great show. Thank you for having it.”
FBS Secretary Fred McMurtie said the MD Expo is “excellent.”
“It’s very well attended despite all the (COVID-19) challenges,” McMurtie said. “It’s an excellent way to collect educational opportunities and to meet with biomeds.”
Everyone seemed excited to be able to meet mask-to-mask in a safe and clean environment with even more educational opportunities set for Monday. MD Expo Tampa is set to conclude with a Happy Hour Closing Reception sponsored by AIV on Monday evening.
