IAMERS Founding Member Ed Sloan has been honored with the IAMERS President’s Award at the 32nd Annual IAMERS Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. In recognition of his many years of service to the industry, Sloan received the award surrounded by several of his long-time friends.
IAMERS President Diana Upton noted: “Ed has created many successful businesses on his own, including ReMedPar and several others. What distinguishes Ed in addition to his great business accomplishments is his unwavering support of many former employees and others who ventured out on their own. Ed’s generosity also extended across the pond as Ed assisted businesses in the UK and Europe.”
At the IAMERS Educational Meeting, Sloan who keynoted the session spoke on leadership. Sloan stressed the importance of looking out for everyone in the organization. His remarks were received with the audience standing to honor him.

In addition to his insights, members were treated to a strong presentation by Block Imaging Executive Vice President Mitch Foldi on best practices for parts reliability. IAMERS General Counsel Rob Kerwin presented on contract tips to protect on potential price changes and delays in light of the President’s Executive Order on tariffs. David Aguiar of Cyclic Materials spoke on the new opportunity for recycling and recovering rare earth elements from the magnets in MRIs.
Geoff Hunt, Crothall Vice President of Imaging Services; Jimmy Kallam, President of East Coast Medical; and Julie Mardikian, a quality auditor with Quality13485, engaged in a lively moderated discussion concerning “Trends and Challenges of Vendor Management.”
Finally, IAMERS concluded by conducting a program on the current state of play with topics including the tariffs under the new Executive Order, changes in U.S. healthcare leadership and updates on cybersecurity regulatory and legislative matters. As Medinnova Systems CEO Hiren Desai noted, “the annual meeting presentations were robust. The takeaways were excellent.”
