Participants will learn what different modes of ventilation may be used, and why testing specific parameters for gas delivery and concentration can increase or decrease the risk of injury to a patient connected to a ventilator or other medical gas flow/pressure device. A risk-based assessment of the frequency of testing will be introduced and worked through. The results will be compared to ventilator manufacturers’ recommended frequency of testing.
