Matt Oetker, CHTM, CBET, is starting a new position as biomedical equipment support specialist at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
He previously posted on LinkedIn about his time in the HTM industry leading up to this career move.
“Lots of thoughts running through my mind tonight. Tomorrow I’ll end nearly 16 years of challenges, great times, tough times, and a period of extensive growth for me professionally. Extremely grateful to have worked with and for some very excellent people. I had no idea that when I signed on to work on sterilizers and instrument washers in 2010 that I’d end up earning two certifications and wind up supervising a great team of biomeds. Thank you to each and every person I’ve worked with at HSS/Tarian. There have been countless learning opportunities that I have gleaned things from that I’ll continue to use for the rest of my career,” he wrote last week.
“I’m very excited for what awaits me at my next adventure as a BESS for the VA. But tonight I’m reminiscing on the last 16 years of memories and lessons learned,” he added.
