The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) announced that it welcomes the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) recent final guidance providing recommendations for medical device cybersecurity considerations for premarket submissions.
“The FDA’s guidance is another indicator of the agency’s capabilities to ensure safe and effective devices in the digital age,” said Patrick Hope, MITA’s executive director. “With medical device manufacturers already implementing the recommendations included in the FDA’s guidance, MITA urges all actors across the health care ecosystem to rise to the challenge to protect this vital sector from cybersecurity attacks.”
