Q: Where did you grow up?
A: The Colony, Texas.
Q: Where did you receive your HTM training/education?
A: Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Q: How did you first discover HTM?
A: I discovered HTM through the Army.
Q: How did you choose to get into this field?
A: After taking my ASVAB in 2011, I found out that I qualified for a few jobs in the 68 series. I selected 68A, BMET, after a quick search on the internet.
Q: What do you like most about your position?
A: I like that I get to utilize my expertise and humor to resolve issues. I encounter a multitude of situations where a little joke can completely change the mood. Creating an open space while remaining professional makes it easier to find out pertinent information. I also like that HTM crosses into other fields such as IT, engineering, and infection control.
Q: What interests you the most about HTM?
A: Medical device cybersecurity, HL7 and networking interest me the most.
Q: What has been your greatest accomplishment in your field thus far?
A: My greatest accomplishment thus far is becoming an subject matter expert in multiple specialties.
Q: What goals do you have for yourself in the next 5 years?
A: Mentoring my local community, networking within HTM and obtaining meaningful certifications are goals that I would like to accomplish in the next 5 years.
