There is a clear demand from the industry to develop continuing education and advanced degree opportunities supporting HTM professional career paths. Specifically, the cybersecurity in health care degree reflects the massive shift toward networked medical devices and the emergence of a new era in which the traditional organizational dynamics separating HTM and IT functions are evolving into a much closer alignment of roles and responsibilities. Cybersecurity and IT in health care presents a wonderful opportunity for career progression and professional development of HTM professionals as well as introducing IT professionals to health care-specific IT and cybersecurity requirements. Participants will be introduced to modular training opportunities – short-term/low-cost activities designed to guarantee mastery of specific technical skills; AR/VR curriculum and training and the future student; and workforce development (externships, internships and apprenticeships).
