Presentations are invited for the Workshop on Accelerated Aging Methods and Testing Techniques for Medical Devices, May 14, 2019, at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, Colorado, USA. The workshop is sponsored by the ASTM International committee on medical and surgical materials and devices (F04) and will be held in conjunction with the May standards development meetings of the committee.
The purpose of the workshop is to identify areas where standardization of protocols and limits are needed to determine the response of polymeric, ceramic, and metallic devices and their materials of construction to shelf storage and in vivo environments in an accelerated fashion.
Researchers are encouraged to submit 300-word abstracts describing their work in accelerated aging protocols, testing technique to assess the effects of accelerated aging, and simulation environments that provide an estimation of the response of a material or device to both shelf storage and to an in vivo environment. Abstracts are due by January 25.
Abstract submission questions can be directed to Tessa Sulkes (see below). For technical information or questions, contact workshop Stephen Spiegelberg (Stephen.spiegelberg@campoly.com).
