Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and ReNew Biomedical Services LLC officials announced that the biomedical equipment service provider is expanding operations in Jackson.
The project represents an investment of $1 million and the creation of 43 jobs over the next five years.
“The addition of these high-quality jobs in Madison County will make a difference both for the employees and our collective efforts to fight COVID-19. These technical jobs equip health care workers with the equipment they need to operate effectively, and I thank ReNew Biomedical Services for their continued investment in Tennessee,” Gov. Bill Lee said.
“The work that ReNew Biomedical Services is doing is critically important, especially as we continue to navigate through the pandemic. We are pleased to see the growth of another West Tennessee company as Jackson’s skilled workforce makes a notable contribution to the fight against COVID-19,” TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe said.

ReNew Biomedical Co-Owner Jill Taylor said the talented population and a need for more healthcare technology management professionals is among the reasons for the expansion.
“Due to the influx of ventilator service needs and the exponential growth of the medical equipment industry, our services have been in high demand. With the support of AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), we intend to build the first Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) training program in the state of Tennessee. These healthcare technology managers are in great need of fresh talent. Jackson offers a perfect environment for this type of apprenticeship program because of the number of candidates in search of job placement in a more technical field of study. We believe that the pool of talent in our area is strong and the potential for growth is very exciting,” ReNew Biomedical Co-Owner Jill Taylor said.
ReNew Biomedical Services is a medical equipment maintenance and repair service company accommodating HTM professionals and emergency medical technicians in the United States. The company has operated in Jackson for six years and currently employs 19 people.
As part of the expansion, ReNew will build a new training facility where the company will train biomedical equipment technicians to handle the needs of the medical equipment industry, specifically focusing on equipment such as defibrillators, EKGs, vital signs monitors, IV pumps, AEDs and ventilators. The Renew Biomedical Training Academy of Jackson, Tennessee is scheduled to open in the final quarter of 2020.
Since 2015, TNECD has supported 31 economic development projects in Madison County, accounting for 1,900 job commitments and more than $890 million in capital investment.
“We welcome these new jobs and congratulate ReNew Biomedical on their expansion. Companies like ReNew Biomedical Services continue to choose expansion here because of our hardworking workforce and our state’s focus on building the foundation for a strong economic future. I look forward to continuing to see this company grow. I also appreciate the work done by our state and local officials in helping boost local job growth. It is a pleasure to partner with them to make Tennessee the best location to locate or expand new jobs,” Sen. Ed Jackson (R -Jackson) said.
“This investment comes at a critical time of increased demand for biomedical supplies and services due to the pandemic. I’m very proud of the role our talented workforce will continue to play in the maintenance and support of vitally important medical devices that improve and save lives. I appreciate ReNew Biomedical Services for their continued investment in Madison County and I wish them success for many years to come,” said Rep. Chris Todd (R-Madison County).
