The Repair Association (Repair.org) sent an email on Halloween inviting everyone to share repairs issues they have faced or face in the future.
The email reads as follows:
“We’re excited to introduce a powerful new tool to support consumers and independent repair businesses: the Repair Complaint Collector. This resource is designed for you to submit complaints against manufacturers who are failing to comply with the latest Right to Repair regulations. Together, we’re making sure your voice is heard and that every manufacturer is held accountable for fair repair practices.
In recent years, significant strides have been made in Right to Repair legislation, but compliance isn’t guaranteed. For some companies, legal obligations to provide parts, tools, and repair information remain unmet. This is where the Repair Complaint Collector comes in. Every report you submit becomes valuable data we can present to Attorney Generals across the country to prompt enforcement action against manufacturers who are not playing by the rules.
Why Participate?
When a company restricts access to repair parts or withholds essential documentation, it not only costs you more in repairs but also goes against consumer rights for accessible, affordable fixes. By submitting your experiences, you’re helping us gather the evidence needed to enforce Right to Repair laws and support the independent repair community.
How Does It Work?
- Submit Your Complaint – If you’re facing obstacles with repairs due to unavailable parts, locked software, or missing information, share the details through the Repair Complaint Collector. Every submission strengthens the case for change.
- We Take It Further – We’ll compile these complaints and bring them directly to relevant state Attorney Generals, urging them to take action against companies violating Right to Repair laws.
- Be Part of the Movement – This initiative is about empowering consumers and businesses alike, and we need your help to hold companies accountable.
Get Involved
Your participation is crucial. Every voice counts in the movement for repair rights. Please fill out the complaint form if you’ve encountered these roadblocks. If you know others facing repair barriers, invite them to participate as well. Together, we can push for fair access to repairs.
Let’s ensure Right to Repair is a reality for everyone.
Thank you for your support in driving real change,
The Repair Association”
