Biomedical test equipment manufacturer Rigel Medical has achieved continuing professional development (CPD) certification for its current series of training and development webinars.
The move enables clinical and biomedical engineers, among others with responsibility for the maintenance of electrical medical equipment who participate in the webinars, to gain one hour toward their CPD requirements.
Rigel is the only UK biomedical test equipment company to achieve the certification which has been awarded by the leading independent body, the CPD Certification Service. Certification covers the company’s series of instructive electrical safety, electrosurgery, infusion, vital signs and defibrillator testing webinars.
Certification is a major boost for Rigel in supporting the professional training requirements of its UK and international customers, helping them to improve their technical skills, levels of learning and cycle of self-improvement.
Rigel’s category manager Michael Walton said the move was a big step forward in facilitating access to high-quality, industry-recognised CPD training as well as showcasing the benefits of the latest generation of advanced testers.
“Participation in our now CPD-accredited webinars ensures that current qualifications are kept fresh and up-to-date. This is important in helping specifiers and product users to better understand and comply with critical health care safety criteria while honing new skills regardless of location and levels of competency,” Walton said.
Rigel manufacturers and supports a range of advanced defibrillator analyzers, infusion pump analyzers and combination vital sign simulators used by hospital and health care facilities around the world. These include the UNI-Therm, UNI-SIM, UNI-Pulse, Rigel 288+ and Multi-flo to test and calibrate patient monitors, infusion pumps and defibrillators, contributing towards ensuring compliance with appropriate international test standards such as IEC 60601-2-2.
