This presentation helped attendees see how HTM technicians can advance their career by leveraging the opportunities of an AAMI certification. Brian Wilson, ISE 3, at Trimedx, and David Scott, Senior BMET at UCHealth, covered strategies to utilize the benefits of being certified. Plus, examples were given that illustrated how some technicians have used certifications to advance their careers.
Wilson and Scott shared additional insights during a Q&A session with attendees. One attendee asked what kinds of study guides are available for the CBET qualification. Another question was where to find testing locations for the CBET certification.
This webinar was popular with almost 150 registered and 88 in attendance for the live presentation. An on-demand recording of the session, including the Q&A session, is available for viewing at WebinarWednesday.live.
Attendees provided feedback in a survey that included the question, “What was your single biggest takeaway from today’s webinar?”
“The biggest takeaway today was two things. First was the information about how to locate a testing location for a CBET test. I’m still studying for my test day at this point in time. And finally a takeaway were the parts about how a certification can impact your career. It definitely gave me another point of view on how it can help your career. I am now more interested in getting my CBET and/or other certifications in the near future,” said Ronald Hillman, Biomed Tech, HMS Health LLC.
“I appreciated the insights into the value of the CBET certification. There were a lot of benefits to obtaining it that I had never considered before,” said Joshua Moffett, Biomedical Equipment Technician, Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute.
“As a CBET, I fully agree with the presenter’s stance of the value and weight of having a certification,” said Steven Johnson, Senior Biomedical Technician, Samaritan Hospital.
“Certification is indicative of baseline knowledge and will provide a path to a career and potential promotions,” said Jahan Azizi, Special Projects Manager, Healthmark.
