TechNation reached out to the HTM industry to get their feedback regarding the 2024 AAMI eXchange recently held June 14-17 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Arizona.
MD Publishing Vice President Kristin Leavoy said, “The 2024 AAMI eXchange was a good experience as always. It was great to come together with old friends and meet new friends in the HTM industry. There was an incredible turnout of students and newcomers to the industry which is so refreshing! I’m looking forward to next year’s conference in NOLA!”
Also, providing feedback are:
- Tim Welby, VP Sales & Marketing, BC Group
- Amy Hobbs, VP of Sales and Customer Experience, USOC Medical
Q: How did the 2024 AAMI eXchange compare to previous AAMI conferences?
Welby: Overall, the number of leads BC Group obtained during the show exceeded our goal. The foot traffic in the vendor/exhibit area appeared lower.
Hobbs: This conference seemed to be slightly smaller than in previous years, but still was very beneficial. We did have a lot of foot traffic Friday and Saturday, but with Sunday being Father’s Day I believe it deterred a lot of people from attending.
Q: What was your biggest takeaway for the AAMI eXchange?
Welby: Lunch tickets were only distributed to “Full Registrants.” We had a 10×40 booth and only 4 Full Registration were assigned. Additional lunch tickets had to be purchased. This was very petty for the size and cost of our booth.
Hobbs: Getting to meet customers face to face. We met a lot of new people this year as well as connecting with some old industry friends.
Q: Is there anything you want to add?
Welby: Holding an event over a celebrated weekend (Father’s Day) is a barrier for some folks to attend or they leave early to be with family.
Hobbs: AAMI does a great job of attracting people from all over the U.S. I think the weekends it falls on just needs to be planned better. They possibly need shorter hours the last day as well. I feel a lot of people flew home and were not there that last day.
