The American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE) is pleased to announce the Call for Nominations for the 2025 Class of the Clinical Engineering Hall of Fame (CE-HOF). This prestigious honor recognizes the visionaries, leaders, and innovators whose contributions have shaped and advanced the field of clinical engineering.
Clinical engineering plays a vital yet often underappreciated role in modern healthcare, applying engineering and managerial expertise to improve patient care through technology. The CE-HOF serves to spotlight these contributions, offering an “outward-facing” virtual museum that celebrates the history of the profession from its beginnings in the late 1960s to today.
The CE-HOF not only highlights the essential role of clinical engineering professionals in healthcare but also inspires future generations to explore this rewarding and impactful career. Inductees are honored on the ACCE website, with their biographies, photographs, and documents showcased to educate and inspire professionals, students and the public.
Nominations Process
The Nominations Review Committee (NC) is tasked with reviewing submissions and selecting deserving candidates. This committee, composed of ACCE Fellow and Emeritus members, is currently chaired by Matt Baretich (2024-2026) and includes esteemed members Arif Subhan (2023-2026), Larry Fennigkoh (2022-2025), William Gentles (2024-2027), and Elliot Sloane (2022-2025).
Nominations are open until February 10, 2025, and all submissions will be carefully reviewed. Final inductees will be affirmed by the ACCE membership and announced at the ACCE Annual Meeting and Awards Reception, taking place on June 22, 2025, in New Orleans, LA.
