CareTech Solutions, an information technology (IT) and Web products and services provider for U.S. hospitals and health systems, has announced the appointment of its senior director of growth strategy and business development, Paula Gwyn, to the HIMSS Innovation Committee, for a two-year term.
The HIMSS Innovation Committee was established to identify emerging technologies and/or processes that positively impact health care by improving the care experience, individual and population health and reducing costs. Annually, more than 7,000 HIMSS volunteers involved in HIMSS Committees, Task Forces, Roundtables, Chapters and Work Groups join together in the mission of advancing and improving healthcare through the best use of IT.
Gwyn joins the committee for its FY16/17 term, which began on July 1, 2015 and ends on June 30, 2017. She will serve alongside 11 members, working together to identify key opportunities for transforming the quality, safety and cost effectiveness of healthcare.
In her role at CareTech, Gwyn is a member of the Sales and Business Development team and is responsible for leading strategic growth activities focused on health care target market expansion. Gwyn is a patent holder who joined the company in 2008. She has held leadership positions in solutions management, business development and marketing at MSX International and spent 17 years with HP (formerly Electronic Data Systems (EDS)). She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Midwest Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
