The recent Webinar Wednesday presentation “How Well Do You Know Your Job: Test Your Knowledge” was sponsored by Sodexo and eligible for 1 credit from the ACI. Attendees were able to join Binseng Wang, ScD, CCE, vice president, program management at Sodexo HTM as he presented a series of questions to challenge their knowledge.
The task of maintaining and managing medical equipment to ensure patients can receive timely and safe care has evolved in the past 40 years. During this time, many theories and practices have been created but not all of them have been validated. Some have been proven wrong, while others are not effective. The combination of the ever-increasing amount of equipment in hospitals and dwindling availability of HTM professionals is forcing everyone to re-examine their jobs to determine what is truly necessary and beneficial for patients and care providers, i.e., how can we work smarter and not harder.
Wang also provided additional insights during an insightful question-and-answer session with attendees.
This webinar drew a crowd with 133 tuned in for the live presentation. A recording of the webinar, including the Q&A session, is available for on-demand viewing at WebinarWednesday.live.
Attendees provided feedback via a survey that asked, “Why did you attend today’s webinar?”
“My past experience with Binseng Wang has made clear that he is an innovative thinker, and his ideas are always worth listening to,” Duke University Health System Clinical Engineer Ethan Hertz said.
“First time attending Webinar Wednesday and it was thoroughly enjoyable and a learning experience. The presenter was excellent and very knowledgeable. “This helped to catch up on regulatory compliance changes. Great stuff,” said Leo Velasquez, Clinical Engineering, Cook Children’s Medical Center.
“I thought I would ace these test questions, but I didn’t! I’ve got some homework to do. I didn’t realize that AEM programs don’t apply for lab equipment!” shared Clinton Anderson, Area Clinical Technology Manager, Kaiser Hospital.
