Manny’s Moans – On MD Expo and Friendship
MD Expo in Vegas just finished last week. What a great experience!
Hundreds of people gathered for a couple of days of educational offerings, exciting social events, and relationships building. The whole casino was abuzz with people sharing an experience. All who did not attend missed out on a great opportunity to enhance themselves and the profession.
It is great to meet with old friends and make new friends at these events. An amazing part is that even though you may not see or speak to someone for months, as soon as you see them, you begin right where you left off at the last meeting. It’s as if there were no break in between. That is what happens with family and that is what these people are: family.
I am fond of saying that it is rare to have more than a handful of true friends. Think about your true and real friends and start counting them. Does it take more than one had to do this?
So what are the rest of the people in your life? Are they just acquaintances? Possibly that is what they are. There exist many degrees of friendships and kinds of friendships. I have written about the different friendships before so if you are interested search the TechNation archives.
We may have many family members whom we love, yet there are always a very few special ones to us. It is the same way with our friends. We love them all, however a few just seem special to us. You cannot force friendship any more than you can force family members. Special friendships just happen.
To those friends and family that are now wondering where you stand, stop wondering. Believe me when I say that there is a chance that you just may be in the special category. Let’s avoid an awkward moment by not discussing it further.
Don’t miss the first ever MD Imaging Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 16 and 17.

Hey old friend. I see you are still as clever as ever. Some day you, Ruth, my hubby and I should get together.
