This is the first year and new era of the NCAA Bowl Championship Series (BCS) in which a national NCAA football champion will be determined through a true playoff series. This road is now being paved by tournament performance and tested on a field is truly a measured achievement of excellence. No more will this National Champion recognition be subject to contested debate or referenced as a popularity contest by its critics.
My thought in this week’s blog is around three letters “B C S” with a new meaning and challenge to the HTM professional. “Become Certified Serious”, maybe a new mantra that finally has found its time – with No Limits! Credentialing, be it in any profession serves not only as a measuring stick of one’s personal achievement but as a standards setting level among those within that profession and the client base it serves.
The International Certification Commission (ICC) www.ptcny.com/clients/icc has recently announced its 2015 application and examination dates for the Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) and Certified Radiological Equipment Specialist (CRES) professional designations. As a breath of fresh air, there is an apparent trend and awareness among new professionals now entering the HTM field as to their desire in obtaining certifications. Again, “No Limits” thinking!
As this next Healthcare Technology Management industry era defines itself in this patient care delivery market transformation. The main pillar that will set the mark – a new bar level of performance will be personal credentialing. Be it formal undergraduate bachelorette education or certification and perhaps both that will be the staple requirements for professionals desiring to work in this field.
Well as you read this, “The Ohio State” Buckeyes as we all now know have successfully become the first National Champions of this new era NCAA playoff BCS series. Are you prepared to make that reach in breaking the goal line plane and become the “BCS” champion of your profession and for yourself! Remember – NO LIMITS!
